Central vein hemodialysis catheters (CVC) are usually used because of late referral of patients for hemodialysis and vascular access thrombosis of hemodialysis patients. The choice between tunneled or not CVC is usually based upon time that CVC have to be in use because is known that not tunneled CVC are prone to infections.
